A few centimetres can affect drainage slope, floor levels, vanity depth, shower position or the route of a vertical stack. Plumbing therefore needs to be considered while the plan and structure are still being developed, not only when pipes are ready to be installed.
We coordinate fixture positions with usable space, wall thicknesses, shafts and service access. Supply and drainage routes are reviewed against beams, slabs and ceiling zones. Wet-area levels and sunken slabs are checked where applicable. The aim is to keep services efficient while protecting room proportions and allowing future maintenance without unnecessary demolition.
In villas, plumbing planning may also involve overhead and underground tanks, pumps, external taps, landscape irrigation points, utility areas and multiple vertical stacks. Commercial projects can introduce higher fixture counts and more complex service zones. Specialist hydraulic calculations are handled by the relevant engineering consultant where required, while our drawings focus on clear spatial coordination with the architecture.

These details are simple to resolve on paper but difficult once waterproofing and stone are complete.
Kitchens and utilities have their own requirements. Sink and appliance points need to match cabinet modules, while water purifiers, dishwashers and washing machines may need dedicated provisions. External service areas can require floor drains, taps and equipment connections that should be coordinated before tiles and counters are installed.
Maintenance remains part of the design brief. Inspection points, valves and access panels should be reachable without dismantling major finishes. Good plumbing coordination hides services visually while still recognising that every system will eventually need inspection, cleaning or repair.

When products are not yet selected, we coordinate around agreed assumptions and update the drawings once specifications are confirmed.
The building’s vertical organisation also matters. Aligning bathrooms and kitchens between floors can simplify shafts and stacks, but architectural priorities may require exceptions. We review these relationships with the design and engineering team so service efficiency is balanced with room planning rather than deciding either discipline in isolation.
On renovation projects, existing pipe routes and drainage points may limit what can be achieved without major work. A site review and accurate as-built information help determine whether fixtures can move easily or whether the design should work more closely with existing services.
